Political Kitty
We have been talking about Christian Influence by taking authority back and holding our “professionals” accountable. This is being physically present and vocal, in prayerful action. It is also free. However, another avenue for influence is money. We don’t like to talk about money but today’s politicians, largely, only listen to money. I’m not asking for you to give your money to any political organization. What I am proposing is for you to save a political kitty that you can use when needed to influence politicians directly.
You don’t need to be wealthy to build up an influential kitty. For example, if you save $50 a month in a kitty, you would have $1200 every two years to influence elections! Would that sway national elections? Probably not much. However, you could sway local elections in a big way. City and county elections cost about $400 to $1000 in marketing. In the county, sheriff is the big race and about $20,000 to $30,000 needs to be raised. In these races $1,200 can make or brake a campaign.
The mindset, as we have discussed before, is to “hire” politicians. Politicians are hired by you to represent you. When they don’t represent you, then you “fire” them and hire someone else. If you let them know when you are disgruntled with their performance, they are more likely to listen. That is influence.
In the charts below you can see how your kitty can influence what kind of races. We have seen since 2020 how vital local races are! Clerks, DAs, Sheriffs, etc. affect our freedoms dramatically. We still need to give to bigger campaigns to help them win, but our influence is diluted. We need to start at the roots and build up.
